Reverend Green was called to the ministry as a young adult. He graduated from Jamaica Bible College and then United Theological College of the West Indies and holds a Master's degree from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. He also holds a Doctor of Divinity degree from International Bible Institute and Seminary in Orlando , Florida .
Reverend Green was ordained in Jamaica and began ministering on August 1, 1968. He served for 22 years in St. James , Jamaica from 1968-1990. In 1990 he responded to a call to become the Pastor at Metropolitan Baptist Church in Miami , Florida . His family, who resided in the Orlando area pursuing educational goals, later relocated to Miami to join him.
While serving at Metropolitan Baptist Church , Reverend Green felt the need to expand his ministry in the North Dade and South Broward areas of South Florida . His goal was to reach the ever-growing English-speaking Caribbean , regardless of their culture, with the hope that his message would reach a wider area of the community. Reverend Green's intense passion and desire to increase and expand the mission outreach efforts was to unite all people under God's Kingdom over which Jesus Christ is Lord.
Reverend Green shared his vision with many Pastors whom he met and ministered with on his previous mission trips to the United States . Later he became an affiliate of the Calvin Evans Evangelistic Association of Ohio then founded the Bethephil Evangelistic Association to minister through mission trips, primarily to Jamaica .
Caribbean Baptist Church was officially formed on March 27, 1994 and signaled the beginning of the Reverent Green's vision. There was no official building, so the word was preached from different pulpits including Pines Middle School , Taft Street Baptist Church , and Miramar High School . Still, the dream had been fulfilled. The congregation grew steadily as the good news was heard by many in the community. Souls were saved, and many came to know Christ as their personal Savior, authenticating the vision. |
